DRIVER/LABORER I

The Town of Glocester seeks a qualified individual for the position of Driver/Laborer I.  The position requires an individual to perform a variety of manual tasks to maintain and support the facilities and infrastructure of the Town.  The position requires 24/7 availability for winter months and for any other emergencies that may develop.  A Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire date is required.  Dependability, a desire to learn to operate department equipment, and the ability to communicate courteously and professionally are qualities that will be important.  This individual will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing. TAX COLLECTOR

The Town of Glocester is seeking a municipal Tax Collector. The position reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for overseeing the Tax Collector’s Office, including receiving all taxes and special assessments, recording payments, reconciling accounts and implementing procedures regarding delinquent taxpayers, including conducting tax sales.

The successful candidate should have at least three years prior experience in a municipal tax collection office, and be familiar with municipal tax collection processes, laws and systems, including proficiency in Vision 2.0 and Excel.  Attention to detail, process orientation, excellent written and spoken English language skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required.  Supervisory experience is a plus.

The position pays between $65,000 and $72,500 annually depending on experience and offers a comprehensive employee benefits package that includes a retirement plan under the Employees Retirement System of Rhode Island, medical and dental insurance, group term life insurance, and paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT/FINANCIAL ANALYST

The Town of Glocester is seeking an experienced accountant who reports to the Director of Finance/School Business Manager.  This position is responsible for the general ledger accounting and Uniform Chart of Accounts (UCOA) compliance.  Duties include assisting with Town and School budget preparation, monitoring expenses throughout the year, the preparation of the annual audit, all aspects of grant activities ensuring compliance, back-up for payroll, and completing reports for governmental agencies as required.  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or related field; six years of progressively responsible related experience in professional and/or municipal accounting or any equivalent combination of education and experience required. Applicant must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office products. Experience with Great Plains (Dynamics) or other general ledger software preferred. Salary range $56,000 – $62,000 based on qualifications and experience.

PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICER

The Town of Glocester is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of probationary police officer. Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years of age, and possess a valid driver’s license. Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED certificate. Applicants must meet medical, physical and psychological standards and must pass an extensive background investigation.
