JOB POSTING: TAX ASSESSOR’S OFFICE CLERK

The Town of Glocester has an opening for a clerk in its Tax Assessor’s Office. The position performs clerical duties required for the operation of the Tax Assessor’s Office and assists the Tax Assessor with tasks related to Town valuation on real estate, motor vehicles and tangible property. The job requires proficiency in job-appropriate mathematics, English language communication, and the ability to use a web-based tax administration system and the Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal system. The position may also perform tasks in other Town offices, as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office administration skills are required.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of office experience. Previous experience with government employment and appraisal of real and personal property preferred.

The starting wage is $24.67 to $25.76 per hour depending on experience and the job includes a competitive benefits package including paid time off, medical, and dental insurance, and inclusion in the Rhode Island Municipal Employees’ Retirement System.

Appointment pending successful completion of criminal background check and approval of Town Council.

JOB POSTING: PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICER

The Town of Glocester is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of probationary police officer.
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years of age, and possess a valid driver’s license. Applicants
must possess a High School Diploma or GED certificate. Applicants having at least 60 college credits in
Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement are preferred. Applicants must meet medical, physical and
psychological standards and must pass an extensive background investigation.
